FLAP VALVES HDPE
Flap Valves prevent water backup through storm pipes and discharge pipes.
Flap Valves prevent rising water from entering a storm drain system. The units are heavy duty but light weight valves, virtually maintenance free.
WA-HDPE flap valve material with 316L stainless non-metallic parts provide the best corrosion resistant protection for long life operations.
Flap valves are designed for use in water control systems and protection infrastructure from rising sea levels. They prevent back flow into discharge pipes and protect low level lands and city structures.
Standard valve head pressures of 1M may cover the valve on a continueus bases, 5M of pressing water may cover the door for 72 hours in the event of flood conditions. Higher withstanding pressures are available.
HDPE Flap valves have very low cracking heads, doors open for one way flow with just a few mm of differencial pressure.
Flap Valves Wall mounted : flap valve bolt mounted to a flat wall to prevent reverse flow.
Flap Valves Flange mounted : flap valve for attachment to a flanged at the end of a pipe.
Flap Valves Tidal Water : flap valve door is mounted at a 10 degree angle for positive closure.
Flap Valves Underwater : flap valve always water covered, 10 degree angle.
Flap Valves Pressure Line : flap valves for pump flow applications with venting.
Typical applications include discharges to tidal waters, manholes, culverts, reservoirs, ponds basins and standpipes. Flap Valves permit the outflow of water while preventing back flow.
Flap Valves can be as simple as a small 100 mm HDPE flap or much larger Flap Valve for ocean out falls. Out falls not equipped with back flow protection, can have a devastating effect in the event of heavy rainfalls, storms and higher than normal tides.
HDPE flap valves require very low opening pressure. When water on the face side of the flap valve rises above water on the back side, it closes automatically to prevent back flow.
Flap Valves may be installed above the waterline or below.
HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) Flap Valves, are lightweight, corrosion resistant non-return check valves for the prevention of flood damage.
